About Growth at LawnStarter

Growth is where LawnStarter's customer and provider acquisition engine gets built. We own organic, paid, and partner channels and work cross-functionally with lifecycle and sales to maximize funnel conversion. Paid social is a high-potential channel for us: we've proven it can work, but we haven't had a dedicated owner to turn it into a scalable, predictable growth lever. That's the opportunity.

Requirements

The Role

You'll own paid social acquisition for both sides of LawnStarter's marketplace — homeowners and service providers — across multiple markets and service categories while keeping spend profitable on each side.

The core channels are Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. Over time, this role could extend to interrupt channels like streaming (Hulu, connected TV) and other push formats.

Director of Conversion Rate Optimization

About the Growth Team

The Growth team owns the full customer acquisition funnel — from ad click to first completed service. We acquire 150,000+ new customers per year across paid, organic, and partner channels. Our CMO owns the visit-to-customer rate, and every point of improvement flows directly to revenue. We're building a rigorous experimentation program across the acquisition funnel, and this role is the person who makes that real.

The Challenge

We know experimentation works. We've seen tests move conversion meaningfully. We have a testing program, methodology standards, a learning repository, and a coordination layer — but no one owns it full-time. Meanwhile, we're migrating our landing pages to Webflow, which gives us full control over the pages that receive all inbound traffic — no engineering dependency, no sprint queues. The opportunity is massive, but only if there's a dedicated person behind the wheel.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We've been profitable for three consecutive years, and our existing business has reached a place of great operating leverage: 38.5 cents of every incremental dollar in net revenue since 2022 has gone directly to the bottom line. We're entering our most ambitious phase yet, expanding into new verticals, building software products, and laying the foundation to become a multi-billion-dollar company. We have a really talented team of ~180 full-time members plus a seasonal workforce that scales to 500+.

The Role

We're hiring a COO to be the operational heartbeat of LawnStarter.

Here's what's true: we grew 20%+ last year, expanded EBITDA margin by 7 points, and scaled to $50M+ in net revenue. We have a great culture, a strong leadership team, a really talented team, and we're great at hiring. We've done a good job building a profitable, growing business, but we aren't strong operators yet.

We don't have the operational infrastructure, rigor, and discipline to match our ambitions. Structural people development is aspirational, not actual. And as the business gets more complex (multiple service lines, new verticals, software products) the CEO needs to elevate to focus on AI strategy, vision, and the highest-leverage bets.
