About the Data Team

We're a high-leverage team of Product Data Analysts embedded across the business, owning the semantic layer and the metrics everyone trusts. The experimentation program runs on real rigor, not vibes: pre-registered analysis plans gate every test launch, anytime-valid statistics keep mid-run dashboards honest under continuous viewing, automated daily SRM and attribution health sweeps catch broken tests early, and seasonal power forecasting accounts for a business that swings hard by time of year. The test lifecycle, design through readout, is already AI-driven. Our analysts are stretched across product, so Growth support has stayed part-time and reactive, until now.

The Role

The Business Analytics Manager will partner with divisions across Union Maritime to design, build and embed the analytical tools that underpin decision-making, management reporting and the day-to-day running of the business.

Sitting between the Analytics function and the wider organisation, the Manager will work alongside commercial, operations, technical, finance and corporate teams to understand how they work, pinpoint where time, insight or control is being lost, and deliver practical solutions: dashboards, self-service reporting, models, automated workflows and AI-enabled tools.

This is a change role as much as a technical one. The Manager is expected to think critically, challenge current ways of working and lead divisions away from manual, fragmented processes towards simpler, data-driven and automated ones. Working closely with divisional heads and senior leadership, the Manager will build data literacy across the business, set consistent data standards, and make sure the tools delivered are adopted and create lasting value.

About Engineering Quality at LawnStarter

Our QA team is growing, and we're investing real money in better test coverage. We already have shared quality standards and a QA squad that organizes itself horizontally across teams. What we don't have is someone dedicated to owning that vision: every QA is heads-down on their own team, so nobody has the room to drive the standards forward, unify how the squad works, or push the state of the art. That's the gap this role fills. It's not a nice-to-have we're adding because things are going well. It's the structure and leadership we need to make what we've already built actually compound.

You'll be LawnStarter's first Principal Quality Engineer, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering. We already have quality standards, working CI/CD gates, and AI tooling in the mix. As a Lead Product Data Analyst, you'll directly impact our results through insights and reports. You'll work closely with product managers, researchers, and other business stakeholders, helping with prioritization, assessments, and business recommendations. Alongside the rest of the Analytics team, it's your responsibility to nurture the data-driven culture within the company, making data easier to consume, whether through interactive reports, easy-to-use datasets, documentation, or training.

About Analytics at LawnStarter

We're a small, senior analytics team supporting the entire company, product, marketing, operations, and finance all run on the data we serve. The foundation is solid: a centralized Redshift data warehouse where all source data lands, modeled in dbt and orchestrated by Airflow, with Segment feeding event data in. You won't be stitching scattered sources together, the platform exists; your job is to make it trustworthy and keep it that way. We're mid-migration to Lightdash as our single BI platform, replacing Tableau and Metabase.

Here's the honest gap: everyone on the team today is an analyst. Data quality, tracking standards, and platform hygiene get done as side work, squeezed between analyses. Nobody wakes up thinking about them, which is exactly the job we're hiring for.
