Position Summary:

Union Maritime is seeking an Associate in Japan with experience in fund matters, joint ventures, equity raising and ship finance. The role will support the group's shipping transactions and financing activities, working with Japanese investors, joint venture partners, banks and other financial institutions.

The Associate will support the Head of Japan across fund-related matters, joint venture structuring and execution, equity raising and ship finance transactions. Responsibilities will include transaction execution and documentation, coordination with investors, lenders and advisers, and ongoing fund and joint venture administration and reporting. The Associate will work alongside colleagues in London and Singapore as well as external advisers in Japan.

This is a hands-on role in a small team. It offers broad exposure to fund matters, joint ventures, equity raising, ship finance and investor relations, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility across these activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and process payments across a group of US companies.
• Interact with US banks, including calls, correspondence, and resolving operational issues.

• Account for BTC mining output by individual data center.

The company is also investing in its future fleet, with newbuild hulls at Wuhu Shipyard in China. Decisions on when to buy, sell and build are central to the business, and the S&P / Strategy team sits at the heart of that work.

Role Purpose

The Junior Analyst will support the S&P / Strategy team in tracking the secondhand, newbuilding and demolition markets, analysing potential acquisitions and identifying areas for investment across tanker and dry bulk. Working closely with Guy Blunden, the Senior Associates and the Analyst, you will turn market data and broker intelligence into clear analysis, practical tools and well-reasoned recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Market Monitoring & Intelligence

· Monitor vessel sales, asset values, newbuilding orders and contracting, and demolition activity on a daily and weekly basis across the tanker and dry bulk markets.

· Review broker reports and market intelligence, track comparable sales, and flag notable transactions, price movements and emerging trends to the team.
