About the Role

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger and leading the month-end and year-end closing processes across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. The role ensures compliance with IFRS, supports statutory reporting and tax compliance requirements, performs complex reconciliations including intercompany and multi-currency transactions, and facilitates successful external audits.

The Accountant role is responsible for timely and accurate provision of financial data and maintaining integrity of the general ledger, ensuring that accounting processes are carried out in a timely and materially accurate manner.

 Key responsibilities

·         Carry out day-to-day activities related to assigned areas of responsibility (accounts payables / fixed assets / bank reconciliations, etc) always maintaining efficiency and accuracy in output.

·         Performing balance sheet reconciliations in line with agreed procedures.

·         Liaise with other departments / locations, ensuring smooth cooperation and flow of information.

·         Ensure that the balance sheet and cash book is reconciled to agreed timescales.

·         Review of output of own work to ensure accuracy and completeness of P&L and Balance Sheet.

·         Ensure that agreed processes are being followed.

·         Provide input and actively engage in maintenance of the Accounting System.

·         Ensure required financial data for business purposes is received and processed timely.

·         Support and train new joiners to perform their duties.

·         Produce audit packs and handle audit queries as they arise.
