We are hiring on behalf of our client who is a high-growth financial technology firm backed by $40M in funding from premier venture capital firms, including Electric Capital and Paradigm. The organization is currently bridging the gap between traditional Wall Street infrastructure and the future of decentralized finance by rebuilding global financial systems on-chain.

As the organization prepares for its next stage of institutional scale, our client seeks a highly disciplined and tech-forward Controller to lead the finance function. This individual will be responsible for building the financial foundation of the company from the ground up, establishing the systems, controls, and institutional standards required by the world’s largest financial institutions. This is a solo leadership hybrid role based in New York City and requires a professional who is equally comfortable with high-level strategic modeling and hands-on execution.

The Growth team owns the full customer acquisition funnel — from ad click to first completed service. We acquire 150,000+ new customers per year across paid, organic, and partner channels. Our CMO owns the visit-to-customer rate, and every point of improvement flows directly to revenue. We're building a rigorous experimentation program across the acquisition funnel, and this role is the person who makes that real.

The Challenge

We know experimentation works. We've seen tests move conversion meaningfully. We have a testing program, methodology standards, a learning repository, and a coordination layer — but no one owns it full-time. Meanwhile, we're migrating our landing pages to Webflow, which gives us full control over the pages that receive all inbound traffic — no engineering dependency, no sprint queues. The opportunity is massive, but only if there's a dedicated person behind the wheel.

We own organic, paid, and partner channels and work cross-functionally with lifecycle and sales to maximize funnel conversion. Paid social is a high-potential channel for us: we've proven it can work, but we haven't had a dedicated owner to turn it into a scalable, predictable growth lever. That's the opportunity.

Requirements

The Role

You'll own paid social acquisition for both sides of LawnStarter's marketplace — homeowners and service providers — across multiple markets and service categories while keeping spend profitable on each side.

The core channels are Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. Over time, this role could extend to interrupt channels like streaming (Hulu, connected TV) and other push formats.
