Brainforce is recruiting for our client, an esteemed international ship management company, a detail-oriented Purchasing Officer with a strong background in ship management procurement. The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring goods and services essential for the company's operations, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and high-quality standards. The successful candidate will be part of the purchasing team and will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement process for materials, supplies, and services, negotiating best prices and terms.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships to ensure reliable supply chains.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure that items received meet required specifications.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to forecast needs and avoid shortages.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, including supplier contracts, invoices, and expenditure reports.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and quality of goods/services delivered.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends and supplier offerings relevant to shipping.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of purchasing activities with broader corporate strategies.
