Compensation: $150,000 - $250,000 (Base Salary) + Significant Early-Stage Equity

We are an early-stage, YC-backed company building the future clean data layer for the internet, starting with financial firms. Our platform solves complex data cleaning, extraction, and validation problems by combining advanced AI (LLMs) with expert human review via a simple API. We're looking for a highly capable and driven Founding Engineer to join us and help build the core of our platform from the ground up. This role offers an opportunity for the right candidate to grow into a CTO-level position.

As a Founding Engineer, you will take ownership of critical systems that drive our product, working across the entire stack. You will directly influence our product strategy and technical direction, experiencing the full arc of building a successful startup.

Their mission is to turn banking from a cost center into a profit center by automating financial tasks for consumer brands with sales between $\$5$ million and $\$200$ million. About the Role

Our client is a rapidly growing AI startup building the next-generation compliance platform. Launched in April 2025, they have already crossed $1.2 million ARR with a small team by automating complex security and compliance processes (SOC 2, ISO, HIPAA, GDPR) using AI agents—turning months-long audits into days.

They are looking for a Full Stack Engineer who is hungry, highly technical, and ready to own features from concept to production. As an early engineer, you will work directly with the founders, shape core product decisions, and build the infrastructure necessary to scale the company toward nine figures.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will shape and scale our backend platform, driving technical excellence while remaining hands-on. You’ll lead architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver cloud-native systems that are secure, scalable, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement backend architecture and technical strategy.
• Own feature delivery end-to-end, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Champion engineering best practices (TDD, CI/CD, clean architecture).

• 7+ years backend engineering, 5+ with Node.js & TypeScript in production.

• Proven track record with serverless, microservices, event-driven systems.
• Strong background in API design, distributed systems, debugging.
• Leadership experience in architecture decisions and team mentorship.

Role profile – Microservices Solution Architect

A Microservices Solution Architect designs and implements solutions using microservices architecture, ensuring they meet business needs and adhere to technical standards. They collaborate with teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure robust, scalable architectures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement microservices-based solutions that align with business requirements and technical standards. 

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring proper implementation of designs. 

Work with product owners, business analysts, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions. 

Conduct architectural assessments, develop strategies, and create roadmaps for digital programs. 

Proactively identify and resolve architectural challenges, ensuring the system is robust and scalable. 

Design solutions for high performance, throughput, and scalability, considering factors like memory and in-memory tools.

Required Skills

A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience and Deep understanding of microservices principles, patterns, and best practices.
