Working collaboratively with project managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), scriptwriters, instructional designers, and production staff, the Animated Graphic/Visual Artist develops visual content that accurately reflects scientific evidence while maintaining a serious, hopeful, and compassionate tone. Gritter Francona is looking for a Section 508 Compliance Specialist that will be responsible for ensuring that all digital products, multimedia content, documents, and communications developed in support of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) National Center for PTSD comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and applicable Federal accessibility standards. The role supports the production of accessible educational resources that enable Veterans, trauma survivors, caregivers, healthcare providers, and the general public—including individuals with disabilities—to access evidence-based information about trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), effective treatments, and co-occurring conditions.

Working collaboratively with project managers, video producers, scriptwriters, technical writers/editors, graphic designers, videographers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and Government stakeholders, the Section 508 Compliance Specialist integrates accessibility requirements throughout the content development lifecycle. The Specialist ensures that educational materials maintain the National Center for PTSD's commitment to accessibility, plain language, scientific accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and trauma-informed communication.

The National Center for PTSD was created in 1989 within a Government Agency in response to a Congressional mandate to address the needs of Veterans with military-related PTSD. The Center was developed with the ultimate purpose to improve the well-being, status, and understanding of Veterans in American society. The mandate called for a center of excellence that would set the agenda for research and education on PTSD without direct responsibility for patient care. The National Center for PTSD manages the website www.ptsd.va.gov and has an educational mandate to educate clinicians, Veterans, and their families on PTSD.

The Project Manager will help develop a suite of materials to be used by the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (NCPTSD) to train providers in PTSD assessment.

This position requires extensive knowledge of nuclear weapons theory, policy, effects, proliferation challenges, and the strategic environment surrounding nuclear deterrence.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in nuclear weapons systems, nuclear policy, strategic deterrence, national security, or a related field, along with exceptional communication and instructional skills. This position is performed onsite at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, and requires an active Top Secret security clearance.
