The role supports the production of accessible educational resources that enable Veterans, trauma survivors, caregivers, healthcare providers, and the general public—including individuals with disabilities—to access evidence-based information about trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), effective treatments, and co-occurring conditions.

Working collaboratively with project managers, video producers, scriptwriters, technical writers/editors, graphic designers, videographers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and Government stakeholders, the Section 508 Compliance Specialist integrates accessibility requirements throughout the content development lifecycle. The Specialist ensures that educational materials maintain the National Center for PTSD's commitment to accessibility, plain language, scientific accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and trauma-informed communication.
