• Design Engineer (Onsite in San Francisco) - $140K – $200K • 0.05% – 0.25%
• Design Engineer (remote in the Americas) - $100K – $180K • 0.05% – 0.25%

Our client is a high-growth, venture-backed organization building a generational open-source security infrastructure platform for the AI era. Trusted by engineers at world-class companies such as Hugging Face and LG, the platform manages billions of secrets, certificates, and credentials every month.

The engineering team are seeking talented Design Engineers based in either the Americas or San Francisco to own and elevate the user-facing experience of this rapidly growing platform. Our client views developer experience as a core product philosophy and obsesses over intuitive design and polished interfaces. This role is ideal for a deeply technical individual who possesses a sharp eye for aesthetics and the ability to build features end-to-end, with a heavy focus on frontend excellence (approximately 70%) and a supporting contribution to the backend (approximately 30%).

Key Responsibilities

The Principal Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) design engineer will be responsible for leading a design team or provide EC&I expertise within a multi-discipline team delivering one or more design projects. These designs will cover the full project life cycle from concept design through to manufacture and commissioning.

When leading a project, the Principal EC&I engineer shall be responsible for the coordination, planning and approval of designs in accordance with the required standards, procedures and requirements. When collaborating with partners, working within a framework team, they shall provide the design engineering for the EC&I discipline.

·        Provide EC&I technical input to bids.

·        Tender documentation production and development.

·        Development and management of estimates and project schedules.

·        Management of EC&I requirements at all levels.

·        Lead presentations at EC&I design review and other client facing meetings.

·        Provision of technical solutions from customer requirements and initial concepts, and coordinate EC&I activities necessary to provide design solutions.

·        Continuous learning and development in all areas of engineering especially with respect to the latest developments in technologies and techniques.

The Junior EC&I design engineer shall report to the designated EC&I discipline lead and/or lead engineer to the project.

Requirements

Responsibilities include:

• Support both Senior or EC&I engineer in delivering design project deliverables. These designs will cover the full project life cycle from concept design through to manufacture and commissioning
• Poduce the required EC&I design documents and drawings to the standards, procedures and requirements set out by the project under supervision
• Have appreciation across some or all EC&I discipline and have the ability to learn and build on their knowledge through working with others and training

What you can bring

• Minimum qualification for this role is an HNC or equivalent qualification in electrical or control engineering or similar engineering
• Familiarity with AMTECH ProDesign or similar cable calculation software
• Familiarity with AutoCad design
• Familiarity with BIM enabled projects
• Willingness and ability to spend short periods of time on customer and supplier sites at various locations
