d2m Services, known for its expertise in recruiting specialized profiles within the naval and maritime sectors, is seeking a Project Buyer on behalf of one of its clients.

Our client is a leading ship repair yard located in Marseille, situated in the heart of one of the largest Mediterranean ports. The yard is equipped with modern facilities and undertakes significant technical projects for international shipowners. In light of its development and increasing activity, it is expanding its purchasing team.

As part of the purchasing department, you will be responsible for a subcontracting portfolio (technical specialties and industrial capabilities) that directly aligns with the operational needs of the ship repair projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the supplier panel across various subcontracting specialties
  • Defining and implementing the purchasing strategy within your scope
  • Ensuring the purchasing process runs smoothly from identifying needs to executing services
  • Participating in project cost estimation, initiating consultations, analyzing bids, negotiating, and finalizing contracts
  • Maintaining communication with technical teams, production, and external service providers
  • Contributing to the evaluation and auditing of service providers with a focus on continuous improvement

Operator (with Dry Bulk experience)

Due to the further expansion of our Bulk Carriers fleet we are actively seeking for an experienced Operator for Bulk Carriers. You will liaise with the vessels and ports to ensure smooth voyage and time charter operation in accordance with company procedures.

As a part of your role, you will:

  • Monitor day to day vessels operations and carry out required follow up (messages monitoring, scheduling actions, liaise with port agents etc.)
  • Issue daily position reports and co-operate with Chartering dept for vessels deployments and fixtures.
  • Handle voyage/time charter pre-fixture and post-fixture operations.
  • Monitor Charterers redelivery and delivery to next Charterers and provide support to Master with pre-fixture and post-fixture matters.  
  • Coordinate and assist the Master with the port agents for the vessel arrival and departure formalities.
  • Monitor vessels port operations and assist the Master with documentation and port/terminal requirements
  • Negotiate Port disbursement accounts, appoint port agency and issue invoices and hire statements. Review the PDAs and FDAs and arrange remittances accordingly.
  • Assist with claims and Charter party disputes.
  • Assist with incidents, accidents response and vessels insurance coverage.
  • Participate and coordinate vessels’ purchases and sales deliveries.
