As a Accountant
You will provide support to the Danaos Shipping accounting department by administering daily accounting tasks.
As a part of your role, you will:
- Be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company’s accounting processes
- Process invoices data entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm the balance
- Communicate with all departments to ensure the collection of invoices
- Assist on updating accounts payable and performing bank reconciliations
- Contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and be fully aware of its processes
- Assist on expenses review and reporting
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
- Degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field
- Previous experience in Accounting Department of a shipping company
- Computer literacy. Familiarity with Danaos ERP will be considered an asset
- Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
